I can’t think of anything more amazing than a sunrise boudoir session on a beach in the Riviera Maya. Oh tropical lighting how I love you! The tropical trees, turquoise waters, song birds waking up with the sun and this gorgeous gal with a heart of gold. This was definitely the trip of a lifetime and I am SO thrilled to have gotten some time behind the lens in!

Light is an incredibly complex and beautiful thing. It can easily make or break a photograph and can be deceivingly tricky. My safe zone is typically morning or evening hours, where the sun is low on the horizon and provides soft filtered light through the trees. If I can help it, I avoid harsh midday sun where it is high in the sky and does not allow for much forgiveness in shadows.
